Hair Care Tips
How to Care for Virgin Hair
BE GENTLE!!
One of the most important things about hair extensions is that you must caress them. When you are brushing your hair, be gentle. Always use a wide tooth comb, always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. For CURLY hair please detangle it when in water with conditioner. Do not comb it after it is dry, otherwise it will cause severe shedding, tangling and matting.
Without the proper treatment, your hair extensions will get damaged quickly.
Hair Care Products
Use good name brand products, Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy, Mixed- Chicks, Pantene Gold Series or Redken are highly recommended. Use a good (leave-in) conditioner to keep your hair soft. Don’t overdo it because it will cause the hair to become weighty it may also cause a buildup and tangling. Avoid hair products that contain too much alcohol, too much alcohol causes to hair dry. Ask your stylist what would be the best products for your hair.
- Shampoo and condition hair regularly
- Detangle hair gently before washing. Do not rub or twist hair
- Add mild shampoo to cool water and swish hair till clean. Rinse thoroughly. Then use condition for 3-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
- Blot out excess water with towel and allow hair to dry naturally. Do not expose to sun
- Comb curly hair gently with your fingers from end to top. Do not brush
- Brush straighter hair in a downward motion straight with the ends. Work your way up to the roots.
- Do Not brush your closure/frontal. After shampoo/conditioning hair use a comb to straighten. After cleaning curly hair use a big comb on hair. Consult your hair stylist if in doubt.
- Hair may tangle if general care directions are not followed properly
Curly Hair Care
Plush wave /curly/kinky curly hair always needs more maintenance than wavy or straight hair, please make sure you can handle this maintenance, or consult with a professional if you are unfamiliar with the maintenance of virgin curly hair. Curly hair needs to be wet Often to keep from tangling, frizzing, and matting up. You will need to purchase an empty spray bottle. Fill bottle with water and add just a little leave-in conditioner. Shake and spray as needed for moisture.
Shampoo Hair (Every 2 Weeks)
When shampooing make sure your hair is not bunched up or piled on top of your head. This will cause severe tangling of your hair. When shampooing your hair, gently wash vertically in one direction only. Be sure to use a gentle shampoo. If your extensions are sewn in, you need to treat them like your own.
Heat
When Applying Heat please use heat protectant to protect your hair. Straightening your hair on Extreme high heat can cause unrepairable damages as it would on your natural hair. We would highly recommend an ionic dryer, as they won’t damage the hair. Also use good quality straightening irons and curling rods. We recommend air drying your hair extensions.
Swimming & Exercise
Wash the hair immediately after swimming! When dirt and sweat accumulates, hair mattes, tangles, and becomes unmanageable. Be sure to always wear a swim cap made of latex. Carefully comb out any tangles that may be present starting from the bottom and working your way up. Once the hair has been detangled braid the hair in two braids to ensure that all the hair is protected and tucked neatly under the cap. Following your dip, be sure to wash your hair immediately to remove any damaging chemical that may have snuck under your cap.
Sleeping
Sleep in a silk bonnet to protect your Flawless Extensions. This will prevent tangling.
Lace Frontal/ Closure Care
Before washing a lace closure/frontal gently remove hair knots and tangles with your fingers.
Then, gently brush through the lace closure/frontal hair with a soft bristle brush or comb it through with a wide tooth comb. If you decide to use a brush please brush with extreme care. Avoid yanking or pulling on the lace closure/frontal, as this may cause hair to fall out or cause hair strands to become loose.
Don’t over wash your hair and always use a deep penetrating hair conditioner and leave it in the hair 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing the hair unit thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Bleaching the knots incorrectly will cause lace balding/ shedding. We are not responsible for lace balding due to bleaching. We will not exchange or refund closures or frontals due to shedding or balding.
